Kitty Martini & The Tom Collins Trio
Kitty Martini & the Tom Collins Trio began as a house band for a Tasmanian Burlesque show in 2015. With a diverse cross section of influences, and a South of the Border sense of humour the four piece are soon to release their debut album, High Heels & Standards.
Just like their "Tom Collins" cocktail namesake, the band mix with a hit of gin, soda and lime with sugar on top:
Kitty Martini - lead vocals. Kitty runs a vintage beauty salon by day and has a love of vintage style, cars and music and is influenced by Wanda Jackson, Ruth Brown, Lavern Baker, Brenda Lee and Big Joe Turner.
Dave Mason - drums. As well as being the driving beat on the kit, Dave is also lover of all things kustom kulture, being a talented pinstriper and restoration guru, he built his 1948 Studebaker truck from the ground up.
Scott Mainwaring - guitar. Scott used to swing his axe in Australia’s premier blues band of the 90s, The Pale Riders. Often referred to as one of Tasmania’s best guitarists, Scott went to the USA to jam at Camp Copperhead with Steve Earle.
Dave “Gringo” Runciman - double bass. Dave distinctive slap and click comes from a love of acid jazz, psychobilly and jump blues, with influences from The Cramps to Alvin Lee, and he is currently working on his 1959 FC Holden.
