17 January 2020

Jesse Dayton is a Texas based Americana artist who adheres to the maverick country traditions of his home state while harboring an affinity for heavier bands such as The Clash and AC/DC.

In a decades long career, including forming two rockabilly bands, the Road Kings and the Alamo Jets, Dayton established himself as a solo artist, recording his Americana-chart-topping record Raisin’ Cain, and releasing a string of independent albums including Tall Texas Tales (2000), Hey Nashvegas (2001), Country Soul Brother (2004), South Austin Sessions (2006), Holdin' Our Own (2007), One for the Dance Halls (2010), Jesse Sings Kinky (2012) and The Revealer (2016).

Recent years were especially prolific, seeing Dayton release The Outsider in 2018, with the live record On Fire in Nashville and the covers album Mixtape, Vol. 1 released in 2019.

Jesse Dayton has worked with a variety of country rock artists, most notably Waylon Jennings and Johnny Cash on Right for the Time (1996), plus the Supersuckers and Kris Kristofferson.

Jesse Dayton is being welcomed in Australia on his first tour downunder.
