The Hop-Ups

New cats on the block are ‘The Hop-Ups’, a fast-paced four-piece rockabilly band from the Northern Rivers of NSW. Formed in 2024, the band has been filling local dance floors with a crossover of traditional rockabilly, jump blues, and western swing.

The Hop-Ups resurrect the thrilling sounds of female driven rockabilly from the 1950s, honouring legends Janis Martin and Patsy Cline, alongside modern performers such as Marti Brom and Imelda May, while also bringing their original tunes to the party.

Supporting Fran Jones on vocals is the tight rhythm section of Johnny Rumble on upright bass and Rob Rok on drums, crowned by P.D. Strange, who adds his twanging guitar style reminiscent of those ground-breaking days of rock’n'roll.

So jump up with The Hop-Ups, it’s a rockin’ good way for a rockin’ good time!
