Next Stop:
GreazeFest
The GreazeFest is
filling the view in the windscreen and will be the next stop on this
ride, so check out all the news as we ease over to the curb:
Market stalls
brimming
The market stalls are
fully booked at GreazeFest and there'll be an exciting range of
sellers with everything including rockabilly music, vintage and new
threads, model cars, she devil accessories, tattoos and stickers.
You can grab a guide to the markets as you enter the gate at
GreazeFest, so you'll be able to navigate your way to your favourite
stall. Be sure to call in on the GreazeFest stall too, to see our
range of goodies for this year.
Accommodation
Update
Hotels and motels
close to GreazeFest are filling up. If you haven’t booked a room
yet, then what on earth are you waiting for? There's an
accommodation list on the web:
www.greazefest.com/accomm.htm
Rain Plan
In the rare event of
rain - it is always sunny for GreazeFest weekend - but in case you
were wondering, here's what we do:
Evening Balls - all
go ahead with no changes.
Street Cruise - meet
at Eliminators, decision made on conditions.
Hot Rod Show - if we
have light rain, there is no need to make any changes, just take
shelter until it passes. If there is an absolute downpour, we follow
the precident set by the Australia Day Hot Rod Show and park the hot
rods on the asphalt and all higher areas. If it is unsafe for the
outdoor stage, the music and the kitten katwalk is moved inside,
where there is room for 1000 people over the upstairs and downstairs
areas.
Sinners Ball car
parking
The staff at Souths
have kindly warned me about a potentional problem for car parking on
Friday night at the Sinners Ball. If you get drunk and decide to
leave your car overnight in the car park or along the driveway at
Souths, it will be towed away around 4am on Saturday morning. The
story is there is a 'green' market being held every Saturday morning
in the driveway of Souths and the market organisers (not Souths)
will tow away any car that happens to be in their way. So here's the
drill - if you plan on leaving your car overnight on Friday night,
be sure to park on the street, not in the driveway. If you are
simply parking at the Sinners Ball and driving home (under the limit
of course), then you have nothing to worry about.

Greazefest Creeps Closer
The
GreazeFest is quickly gaining pace with just six weeks to go until
the kustom kulture event of the year here in Oz. Here’s all the
latest news from GreazeFest HQ:
Mike da Moocha goes west
DJ Mike da Moocha is regrettably unable to perform at
GreazeFest this year. The long time GreazeFest DJ is moving his day
job to the west coast. Alas, the move is scheduled for two weeks
before GreazeFest, so he’s had to say goodbye to Brisbane as our
rockabilly sister city of Perth gains a new fan and friend.
Good
news back here on the east coast is Sydney duo, Limpin’
Jimmy & The Swinging Kitten will be stepping up to the task
of DJing at the Greazers Ball on Saturday night.
This
extraordinary rock'n'roll couple have brought together a lifetime of
music appreciation to become a formidable DJ team. Limpin' Jimmy &
The Swinging Kitten are the hottest DJ's on the Sydney scene, having
spun tunes at shows such as the Royal Crown Revue and Wanda Jackson
and they're bringing their floor-filling talents to GreazeFest.
As well
as DJing on Saturday night, this stylish couple will be hosting the
Kitten Katwalk at the Hot Rod Show on Sunday. Read
more about the Kitten Katwalk in this Roundup.
Tickets selling fast
With
just six weeks until big weekend, tickets are selling fast as people
take advantage of the $5 cash back offer.
If you
are attending all events at GreazeFest, I’d recommend getting the
GreazeFest Weekend Pass, which gets you entry to the Sinners Ball on
Friday, the Greazers Ball on Saturday and the Hot Rod Show on Sunday
for only $60, that’s $15 off!
You have all sorts of options for tickets - just visit the
GreazeFest web site at
