Frequently Asked Questions...

Can you give me more information on the Kitten Katwalk?

Coming up this year is the inaugural Kitten Katwalk at GreazeFest. This is an opportunity for all you cats and kittens to strut your stuff and be part of a visual spectacular showcasing the diverse range of kustom kulture looks. You may wish to show an outfit, your tattoos, your beehive or whatever mode mood you’re in.

Simply visit Penelope at the GreazeFest market stall on Sunday morning to register for the parade. Then meet Penelope on the dance floor at 1.50pm, as she assembles the kittens to strut on the catwalk by 2pm.

The Katwalk is open to all ages and genders.

Each person will have about 1 minute of stage time individually.

Each entrant walks up to the Katwalk and over to the two hosts - Limpin' Jimmy & The Swingin' Kitten, who will introduce you to the audience.

The entire parade then walks back along the Katwalk as a group.

The prizes will be awarded by audience response.

The prizes include a professional photo shoot with Matt Black from TCB Magazine, plus a hair and make-up session by Mizzbehave, plus Pin-up Parlour gift packs 'For the kitten that likes to dress up' as well as plenty of GreazeFest goodies. Meow.

What happens if it rains?

In the rare event of rain - it is always sunny for GreazeFest weekend - but in case you were wondering, here's what we do:

Evening Balls - all go ahead with no changes.

Street Cruise - meet at Eliminators, decision made on conditions.

Hot Rod Show - if we have light rain, there is no need to make any changes, just take shelter until it passes. If there is an absolute downpour, we follow the precident set by the Australia Day Hot Rod Show and park the hot rods on the asphalt and all higher areas. If it is unsafe for the outdoor stage, the music and the kitten katwalk is moved inside, where there is room for 1000 people over the upstairs and downstairs areas.

How does the cruise work?

You turn up to the Eliminators Clubhouse at Burchill Street, Loganholme at 11am on Saturday August 2. The cruise will depart from the clubhouse with a pre-arranged route and rest stops, to be advised on the day. The cruise will return to the Eliminators Clubhouse by approximately 2pm. All makes of vintage cars are permitted.

What cars are permitted into the car show?

The show is open to pre-1970 iron, including hot rods, kustoms, daily drivers, rats, led sleds, stockers, vintage bikes, bobbers, lowrider cycles and all types of fins and chrome. If you need more of an insight into what cars are welcome, just check out the pix here

How do I enter my lowbrow art in the art show?

It's easy. You can be part of the art show by displaying your latest creation, be it pinstriped, carved, pined up, automotive or tattoo inspired. Your art can be at garage standard or art studio standard. It’s up to you. Simply bring up to three pieces (fewer if they are real big) in a ready to hang condition, to GreazeFest on Sunday at 9am. We'll have GreazeForce members there to hang your artwork and we'll have display cards for you to complete.

Is the hot rod show sanctioned?

The GreazeFest Hot Rod Show and the Street Cruise both have A.S.R.F. 'Travel Permits', which means that all ASRF class vehicles can travel to these events. If you are an ASRF hot rodder, you'll know what this means to you.

Do I have to pre-register my vehicle?

No.  Just register your vehicle at the gate at 9am on Sunday.

Is there a cost for entering my vehicle?

No. Drivers who enter the Hot Rod Show simply pay the same entrance price as a passenger or a person on foot.

Is there a car show on Saturday?

No, but there is a Street Cruise on Saturday, commencing at 11am from the Eliminators Clubhouse, Burchill St, Loganholme.

Can my kids come to GreazeFest?

Yes and no, there are different rules for evenings and daytime:

Thursday night at the Pre-Party:

  • Over 18s only.

Friday and Saturday nights inside the clubhouse:

  • Under-18s must enter the venue with a parent or guardian and stay under their supervision;

  • Under-18s may not approach the bar, or hang out away from their parent / guardian;

Sunday hot rod show:

  • Sunday is 'all-ages' day.

  • The outdoor area containing the hot rod show and the music stage and dance floor is unlicensed, so under-18s can hang out wherever they like.

  • The clubhouse is the licensed area, so under-18s must be with an adult if they wish to enter the clubhouse or outdoor courtyard.

  • Rockers under the age of 12 are free on Sunday.

Can I reserve a table?

No. Due to complications every year with table bookings, the tables for the evening Balls are now unreserved. This means that the tables and seats will be in the room, but it is up to the patron to secure their own table on the night of the Ball. In addition to the tables, there is scattered seating, lounges, stools, tables, dry bars and other rest areas for patrons.

Will tickets sell out?

Yes. Both the Sinners Ball and the Greazers Ball will sell out. The Hot Rod Show on Sunday will not sell out, as we have room for thousands of people.

How do I pay for tickets?

Tickets are on sale now, the instructions are on the Ticket page www.greazefest.com/tickets.htm

Is there camping on site?

No. The local council forbids camping on the grounds. Contact the Flight Centre on 07 3844 2505 to book a motel.

Can I leave my vehicle on the grounds overnight?

No. Leaving your vehicle on the premises overnight at Souths or Davies Park is NOT PERMITTED. GreazeFest accepts no responsibility for the safety of your vehicle. Get yourself a designated driver and get your vehicle home safely. Or contact the Flight Centre on 07 3844 2505 to book a motel.

Why didn't my band play at GreazeFest?

The weekend entertainment schedule is tight and not everyone gets to play at GreazeFest. We simply can't fit all the bands in.
